Episode 1 - Incursions
Location: Captain's Quarters
"Computer, begin recording Captain's log." Richard spoke as he moved across his quarters from the replicator, which had dispensed one of the his favourite beverages, to his dedicated workspace.
The glass mug, filled with a warm Bolian tea, which had a comfortable fragrance that reminded him of cinnamon and cloves, clinked as it made contact with the oak veneer of the desk.
"Captain's Log, star date sixty two, five zero five point..." he paused, checking the chronometer, "... point five. Following our encounter with the Orion Syndicate, the Columbia has arrived at Outpost Tinkora. This little known outpost is hidden away and does not get very many visitors. It does however, play one very important role - in orbit of the planet are five Remmler Arrays, one of which is large enough to hold this fine starship. While they're multifunctional, this specific array holds the ability to allow the Columbia to undergo a sweep to eradicate build up of Baryon radiation."
He paused to take a drink from the tea, letting out a comfortable sigh as the liquid reached his stomach.
"The sweep itself is lethal, and is unfortunately the only known way to remove the radiation which builds up as a side effect of warp travel. The statistics show that Ambassador Class starships are prone to quicker build ups. A full crew evacuation of the ship is underway, while Tinkorian field engineers, assisted by our own engineering and security teams, establish field diverters to protect critical ships systems. We have 3 hours to complete this process, before the sweep is scheduled to begin."
Steam continued to rise from the cup of tea, wisping up and through the room, "My senior staff and I have been invited to have a dinner with the Tinkorian Administrator of this facility. I only know Administrator Fisher by reputation. A reputation that is known for throwing impressive formal dinners that inevitably end in some form of drama... I have ordered my crew to be on their best behaviour."
"The sweep should be completed in 16 hours, with the ship ready to department in 24. I understand the USS Hood, should arrive early tomorrow morning, with Admiral Wolff onboard, who will brief us on our next assignment."
